My Story
I’m Dave Russell and I am a Mind Coach, a Hypnotherapist and a Psychotherapist.
However, many years ago I had a very different career. I used to work as a trader for an international bank. That highly stressful job took a toll on my mental health which contributed to me developing anxiety which took over my life.
My journey to regain my own mental health and develop mental resilience took me on a journey that lead me to my current career and mission to help others to overcome stress, anxiety, depression and other mental challenges common in today’s world.
I work with individuals in my private practice as well delivering consultancy and training for corporations.
When my daughter Lucy was 4 I created some hypnotic stories about a bear called Tumbles, who lived in Fumbily Wood, to help her develop the skills to help her calm her own mind and body, and develop mental resilience.
The more she heard them, the greater the effect that they had for her so, I created more stories with more lesson embedded in them. I recorded them so that she could always listen to them, even when I was not home at bedtime.
Then, encouraged by Lucy, I started to share the stories with friends, family, and colleagues of my wife and the parents of some of my youngest clients. The results were fantastic, better than I would have ever thought.
And as the result of this and further encouragement, I decided to make all the Tumbles the Bear and The Fumbily Wood stories available for everyone to benefit from. The result is the collection of stories that you can find on this site.
I know that you and your kids will fall in love with Tumbles the Bear and the other characters from Fumbily Wood just as other parents and their children have.
And I look forward to hearing all of the positive changes as your children develop mental resilience and overcome the various mental challenges they face, helped along the way by Tumbles the Bear.
